We are intended parents in Toronto, Ontario, trying to build a family through the gift of surrogacy
Hi, we’re Jia and Eric, and we live in Toronto with our wonderful pup Kimchi. And we'd love us some dumplings (a.k.a. munchkins, kiddos, babies).
A lot of love flows through our lives—from our families, our friends, and for each other. We’re blessed. And we want to share that love with a little human being—or two!—unconditionally so that they can grow up to value the same compassion, confidence and community that makes our lives so rich. And we look forward to cherishing the small moments of joy and connection that we hope will be part of daily family life.
After seven years of hard work, we’ve given up on giving birth to our own babies. We've tried it all . . . IUIs, IVFs, FETs, an amazing egg donor. Unfortunately, after countless negative pregnancy tests and miscarriages, our fertility doctor and we accepted that Jia is unable to carry a pregnancy. This was a devastating loss for us, and we have gone through periods of grieving and imagining what a childless version of our lives might feel like. In light of all this, we are resolved and yearn deeply to raise our own little munchkins.
So, we’re committed to surrogacy to see if fate and an amazing woman’s generous gift will allow us to pass the gift of love forward in a way that is deeper and wider than we can on our own. Surrogacy would touch more than just the two of us: we have a large community of family and friends who have walked along-side us in this journey, cheering for us, sharing our hopes and disappointments. Jia is an only child, so we would love to share with her parents the gift and the joy of watching their grandchildren grow. Eric has a whole bunch of family around Ontario and they would be so delighted to finally see us have kids because they've been holding us in their hearts for many years while we've struggled. Most of all, we feel blessed to have such wonderful family and friends, and we are eager to bring children into this loving, warm family and community. We definitely don't expect raising kids to be all roses, but we are eager to embrace the day-to-day miracle of being parents. ❤️
